Carrot, Applesauce and Oat Treats
Hello! I needed to quickly whip up a batch of dog treats for the 6 pack today. I decided to use carrots, applesauce and oats. Nothing fancy. I just mixed it up, rolled it into balls and baked them. Easy peasy.
These treats are super easy to make, use ingredients you probably already have on hand, and whip up in about 10 minutes before going in the oven. The resulting treats are solid and easily portable, but slightly gummy so it gives pets something to chew on.
If you want to make a quick batch of nutritious treats for your dog, here’s what you’ll need:
1 cup oats
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup (about 1 large) carrot finely grated
1 cup flour
Ok. Let’s do this!
Preheat oven to 350°
Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
Flour your hands because dough is a bit sticky.
Using 1 TBSP of dough, roll into a ball.
Place balls on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 18 -20 minutes.
Allow treats to completely cool before giving them to your dog.
