Sexy “SIN”abon cinnamon rolls

Sexy “SIN”abon cinnamon rolls

Hi! I’m sure you are familiar with the delicious and inviting smell of Cinnabon. It’s practically irresistible. One day, when My Man had the day off, I really wanted one of those amazing rolls. My Man loves cinnamon rolls, especially Cinnabon. So, I decided that I would recreate them right there in my kitchen. Y’all, I didn’t recreate them… I somehow made something even better! The name is credited to my reaction and a funny question from The Girl Child. When I rolled these up and sliced them into rolls, I said “Damn! Those are some sexy cinnamon rolls!” The Girl Child immediately said “Cinnamon with an ‘S’?” There you have it. Sexy “SIN”abon rolls were born. You know you want some…

Here’s what you’ll need:

For the dough:

1 cup warm milk

2 room temperature eggs

1/3 cup melted butter

4 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup white sugar

1 package yeast (NOT INSTANT)

For the filling:

1 cup packed brown sugar

3 TBSP cinnamon

1/3 cup melted butter

For the icing:

8 oz softened cream cheese

1/2 cup softened butter

3 cups powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/8 tsp salt

This recipe takes some time due to the time required for the dough to rise. I will let you know at what point you can leave the rolls to rise overnight. Then they’ll be ready to go when you are in the morning! It is a bit time consuming, but they are worth the effort. Trust me!

Let’s do this!

Begin by warming your milk in the microwave for 1 minute. In a large bowl dissolve the yeast in the warmed milk.

Add sugar, butter, eggs, salt and flour and mix well. Dust your hands lightly with flour and knead dough into a large ball. Place the ball into a large bowl sprayed with cooking spray (I use Pam) and cover tightly with plastic wrap.

Dough prepared for rising

Place the bowl in a warm place, or on top of your stove with the oven set to 250°. Let the dough rise until it has nearly doubled in size, roughly 1 hour.

Dough after rising

Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Sprinkle flour onto your work surface. Roll dough into an approximately 16×20 inch rectangle. You want your dough to be roughly 1/4 inch thick.

Brush the dough with melted butter. Evenly sprinkle brown sugar/ cinnamon mixture over the dough.

Dough covered with butter and cinnamon brown sugar

Using the long edge of the dough closest to you, roll away from yourself to form a log.

Cinnamon roll dough log

Slice the log into 12 evenly sized rolls. Place the rolls into 2 lightly greased (I spray mine with Pam) 9×13 inch glass baking dishes. Cover with a dishcloth and allow the rolls to rise until nearly doubled. This takes 30 minutes to 1 hour.

*At this point in the process you can leave the covered rolls on your counter and allow them to rise overnight.*

Cinnamon rolls after rising

Damn those are some sexy cinnamon rolls! Just take a minute and stand back to admire them. You are creating edible masterpieces.

Preheat your oven to 350°. Bake the rolls for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

While the rolls are baking, make the icing by beating together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, salt and vanilla extract.

Cinnamon roll icing

When the rolls are warm out of the oven, spread half of the icing over them. Allow all of that deliciousness to melt into the roll.

First icing of cinnamon rolls

Let the rolls sit for a few minutes. Then spread the other half of the icing on them.

Completed cinnamon rolls

You did it! Get yourself one of those rolls and enjoy the reward for all of your work. They are sinfully sweet and delicious.

Thanks for stopping by!
