Mmmm mmmm good M&M and chocolate chip cookies

Hello! I’ve been laughing so hard today! I wanted to make some cookies with valentine M&Ms in them, so I grabbed a bag at the commissary.
I went to make them today, and when I opened the bag I just poured them into the measuring cup. I got startled and yelled, “what the hell???” I looked at the bag and y’all, I got MEGA M&Ms!! I didn’t even know there was such a thing! They are nearly the size of a quarter! But, I used them anyway! In the picture the red M&M in front is sitting on top of a quarter!
Oh, my adventures in cooking never cease!

To be clear, I normally use regular sized M&Ms in these cookies. You can use mini M&Ms or, apparently, mega M&Ms as well.
You can also use whatever chocolate chips you prefer. I normally use milk chocolate, but for these I used white chocolate, because I thought it would be prettier.
If you’d like to whip up a batch of these yourself, here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 cup butter (melted)
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 2/3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup M&Ms
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Ok. Let’s do this!
Preheat your oven to 350°
In a large bowl, whisk butter, brown sugar and white sugar together until combined.
Whisk egg and vanilla into butter/sugar mixture.
Next, add in flour, baking soda and salt. Combine with a wooden spoon until a soft batter forms.
Finally, add in the M&Ms and chocolate chips and stir until evenly blended.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or use a silicone baking mat.
For each cookie, use about 3 TBSP of dough rolled into a ball.

Arrange dough balls on baking sheet.

Place in oven and cook for 10 minutes.
When cookies come out, they will not look “done”. The cookies will continue to set up as they cool.

Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes.

If your cookies last long enough, store in an airtight container at room temperature.
These disappear quickly in my house. I know whoever you make them for will love them!
Thanks for stopping by!
