BBQ pulled chicken sliders

BBQ pulled chicken sliders

Hello! This is a super easy recipe, perfect for game day. You make it in your slow cooker, so you can keep it warm all day. When sliders are requested by My Man or The Girl Child, I usually start the chicken in the morning and let it simmer in the delicous BBQ sauce all day. I like to have it in my slow cooler by 11AM at the latest.

Here’s what you’ll need:

3-4 chicken breasts (shredded)

1 medium onion (diced)

1 cup Swanson chicken broth

1 bottle BBQ sauce (I use Kraft Hickory Smoke flavor)

salt (to taste)

McCormick California style garlic pepper (to taste)

1/2 tsp McCormick Grill Mates Mesquite seasoning

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1 TBSP cooking oil

Dinner rolls

Let’s do this!

I start by cooking my chicken breasts in my InstantPot for 10 minutes and then finely shredding them.

Pour 1 cup of chicken broth into your slow cooker and turn it on high.

In a large skillet add the cooking oil, diced onion and shredded chicken. Combine your spices and sprinkle those over the chicken. Saute until onions are soft and chicken is heated through.

Chicken and onion with spices

When the chicken mixture is done sauteeing, add it to the chicken broth in your slow cooker. Next, add in one bottle of BBQ sauce (mine is 18 oz).

Chicken mixture, broth and BBQ sauce combined in slow cooker

Give the mixture a good stir to combine and leave your slow cooker on high. Check on it occasionally and give it a stir. When it is simmering nicely turn your slow cooker to low. Continue to stir occasionally.

BBQ pulled chicken

As the chicken continues to cook on low, the sauce will thicken. When it has thickened to your liking, turn your slow cooker to warm.

Dinner rolls or King’s Hawaiian rolls are the perfect buns for your sliders. Use a serrated bread knife to cut them in half. Now your sliders are ready to be served!

If we are having these as a meal, I usually serve them with cole slaw and corn.

These will be a hit at your dinner table or on game day!
