5 cheese lasagna rollata al forno
Hello! A few years ago I used to get this at Olive Garden. I was not happy when they didn’t keep it on the menu. Now that I live in the middle of nowhere, it doesn’t really matter anymore because the closest Olive Garden is an hour away. So I decided to find a way to recreate it at home. I must say, I’m pretty proud of myself. The sauce is spot on!
If you do “meatless Mondays”, this is a great dish to make. It is very filling. If you were a fan of this at Olive Garden, or you just love lasagna, I think you will really enjoy this!
Here’s what you’ll need:
For the sauce:
2 cups marinara sauce (I use Prego roasted garlic and herb)
2 cups alfredo sauce (I use Classico 4 cheese alfredo)
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup Italian blend cheese (I use Sargento)
1/4 cup beef broth
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
For the filling:
1 egg
15 oz container ricotta cheese
2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
1/2 cup parmesan cheese (shredded)
2 cups Italian blend cheese (I use Sargento)
1 TBSP Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
For the topping:
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
Noodles:
1/2 package lasagna noodles
Ok. Let’s do this!
Start by boiling your lasagna noodles according to the directions on the box.
After boiling, rinse noodles in cold water so they are cool enough for you to handle.
In a large saucepan, combine all of the sauce ingredients.
Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently. As the cheese melts, the sauce will become creamy.
When cheese is melted, reduce heat to low and keep sauce warm.
In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 egg.
Add remaining filling ingredients to bowl. Stir to combine.
Pour 1/2 cup sauce into bottom of a 9×13 inch glass casserole dish.
Lay 1 noodle in casserole dish. Spoon filling along length of noodle.
Roll noodle loosely, jelly roll style. Continue with remaining noodles. (I ended up with 7 lasagna rolls)
Arrange noodles in baking dish, seam side down.
Pour remaining sauce over lasagna rolls.
Top rolls with mozzarella cheese and breadcrumbs.
Bake for 35 minutes.
I served this with a salad and cheesy garlic French bread. It was a delicious and very filling meal.
I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did!
Thanks for stopping by!
